General Camp Information

Basic training throughout the camp will be drawn from Chen style Taiji, Xing-Yi, Bagua. Participants practicing any form are welcome and will benefit from the internal training applicable to all styles. The main focus of this camp is on the latest internal training methods described by George as Level 3 Internal Training, with an introduction to Level 4. Level 3 is described as internal being alive, intelligent, and active. The focus is pure internal. To touch the external is to touch the internal and to touch the internal center. The internal goes before the arm and leg. The internal is moving the external and therefore the external is moving without any information for the enemy. The internal finishes the enemy. This internal power is empty force. Level 3 information is a continuation from recent workshops. Forms: Chen Style Part I with basics, Xing-Yi short form, and Bagua Dragon and Eagle forms.

Where: Sonoma Mountain Zen Center, 11 miles from Santa Rosa, CA. Directions

Transportation: For those flying into San Francisco International or Oakland airports, there is a bus to Sonoma. From Sonoma is a shuttle to the Zen Center at 2 pm and 4pm. Also, George will have a private shuttle bus to the Zen Center from his home in San Francisco. Arrive at his house on Tuesday before 4 pm to get a ride to Sonoma. From the airport, take the Blue Super Shuttle service from SFO to 4309 Lincoln Way, San Francisco. Everyone should simply call George with your travel information so we can help you get to the camp. Call 415-664-4578 or

415-407-2199.

Lodging: The facilities include a meditation hall converted from a turn-of-the-century redwood barn with pinewood flooring (30’x 40’), surrounded by redwood decks, a cozy dining room (16’ x 26’), a large spacious yurt (30’ diameter), a smaller yurt (20’ diameter), a beautiful restroom/bath house-uniquely inspired by the art of Japanese joinery, and several rustic cabins. Bedding is provided. We will have a minimum of 15 people and a maximum of 30.

Food: Three delicious, mostly vegetarian meals will be provided daily. Participants must provide their own specialty food for unusual diets and food allergies.
